The London Celebrity Sports Quiz is the flagship fundraising event for the Bobby Moore Fund. The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK was founded in memory of Bobby Moore OBE, by his wife, Stephanie Moore OBE, following his passing from bowel cancer.

Hosted by celebrity guests, the annual gala event is more than just a quiz. In addition to a drinks reception and sit-down dinner, the quiz itself is written by football commentator and Quizmaster-extraordinaire, Clive Tyldesley. Supporters take part in various fundraising games and have the chance to win prizes through live and silent auctions.

The Bobby Moore Fund.

Bobby Moore OBE was a footballer who captained West Ham and led the England men’s senior team to their first and only World Cup victory in 1966. He was only 51 when he died of bowel cancer in 1993. Since its’ inception, the Bobby Moore Fund has increased public awareness of bowel cancer and since his passing, the fund has raised over £31 million towards life-saving bowel cancer research.

The research and awareness made possible by the Bobby Moore Fund has contributed to a 30% reduction in mortality rates for bowel cancer in the UK. However bowel cancer is still the second most common cause of cancer death in the UK, with over 4o people losing their life to the disease every day.
